What's In The BAG?

Every weekend, Fuel For Flight provides students experiencing food insecurity with a bag of nutritious, kid-friendly food designed to help bridge the gap between school meals on Friday and breakfast on Monday.

Each food bag costs just under $7 and contains 14 total food items from 9 different food categories.

Our goal is to provide foods that are:

•High in protein to help students feel full longer

•Shelf-stable and safe to store at home

•Easy for children to prepare independently

•Familiar and kid-friendly

A typical Fuel For Flight food bag includes:

Protein items are the foundation of our bags because protein helps children stay satisfied and supports healthy growth and development. Examples may include:

•Beef jerky

•Peanut butter crackers

•Canned pasta with meat

Quick and easy breakfast options help students start their day with energy.

•Instant oatmeal

•Breakfast bars

Entrées provide substantial meals that children can prepare with minimal assistance.

•Microwaveable macaroni and cheese

•Canned pasta with meat

•Soup

Through the generosity of donors, volunteers, food drives, and community partners, Fuel For Flight delivers these food bags each week to students across the Milford School District, helping ensure they return to school on Monday ready to learn, grow, and succeed.
